Calcined petroleum coke
Category
Calcined petroleum coke is produced by calcining petroleum coke at a high temperature of approximately 1300°C, thereby removing most of its volatile matter and moisture. This treatment causes the carbonaceous structure to shrink in volume, increases its density and mechanical strength, and enhances its degree of graphitization, thus improving its high‑temperature strength and thermal stability while also enhancing its electrical conductivity.
Post‑calcined coke carbon‑addition agents are widely used in steelmaking, ironmaking, metallurgy, casting, and the automotive brake‑pad industry. They offer stable performance, low impurity levels, and tightly controlled particle size, enabling rapid carbon addition and improved production efficiency. Particle size and packaging can be customized to meet customer specifications.

As the “heart” of the aluminum electrolysis cell, the prebaked anode serves both as a current‑carrying electrode and as a participant in the electrochemical reactions of aluminum production, making it one of the most critical components of the aluminum electrolysis process. Calcined petroleum coke is one of the primary raw materials used to manufacture prebaked anodes, and its quality directly influences the anode’s physicochemical properties and the stability of the production process.
View DetailsResistor material/Insulation material
Resistance-grade and insulation-grade materials refer to calcined petroleum coke of varying particle sizes, named according to their intended use in the electrode or negative‑pole graphitization process. Typically, resistance-grade material is selected with a particle size of 8–25 mm, while insulation-grade material is chosen with a particle size of 0–2 mm.
